I offer a painted portrait service. Portraits are important. They are social documents which reflect the times in which they are created. They say as much about the artists who create them as they do about the subjects who look back out at us. Portraits are investments, both financial and in terms of human endeavour. Portraits make the best decor. They are inter-changeable and when new visitors enter your home portraits are the first thing they will notice. PORTRAITS ARE FOR EVERYONE. View the CONTACT page to see how you can commission a painting of your own.My main media is oil on board. I work from life (within the local area) or from a sequence of photographs. My influences are Fauves and Expressionism - I enjoy powerful images that come out and give me a Glasgow kiss (headbutt). When I paint I seek the essence of the person. Figurative accuracy takes second place.My formal art education took place in Northumberland between 1994 and 1996. I have exhibited at Newcastle-upon-Tyne's Live Theatre and Biscuit Factory during their PRIDE ART exhibitions (2000 - 2004). ABOUT FACE featured at the Tolbooth Art Centre, Kirkcudbright where 21 portraits were displayed in July 2009.I was born in Bishop Auckland, England in 1956. Eighteen months later I was on an ocean liner and I have not stopped travelling ever since. These days I make my journeys through paint.
